Why a 15?
What to consider with a 15 certified film?
When thinking of what to consider in our movie the use of BBFC helps because it shows what is and is not permitted. if we were to send a message towards discrimination we must not use aggressive or discriminatory language or behaviour unless it is clearly deemed wrong.
Drugs - The misuse of drugs can be frequent and shown in the narrative of the film.
Horror -Moderate physical and psychological threat may be permitted, provided disturbing sequences are not frequent or sustained.
Imitable behaviour - Dangerous behaviour such as suicide, hanging and self-harming can be shown in detail which could be copied, or appear pain or harm free.Weapons should NOT be glamorised.
Nudity - is permitted but in sexual content must be brief and discreet as it can be uncomfortable for some.
Sex - Allowed briefly, Sex references should not go beyond what is suitable for young teenagers. Frequent crude references are not acceptable.
Violence - Moderate violence is allowed but should not dwell on detail. There should be no emphasis on injuries or blood, but occasional gory moments may be permitted if justified by the context.
Thankfully non of these factors will affect my groups opening sequence because we wont mention anything about drugs or have any form of nudity for this psychological thriller. There is no need for nudity or horror conventions because it focuses more on the behaviour of the protagonist and violent actions.
